Uptown provides contracted service for all single snowfall accumulations at or above the approximate minimum snowfall amount you selected. Uptown is not responsible for snowfalls or accumulations less than the contracted minimum snowfall amount. We offer trigger depths of 1/2", 1" or 2"
In most cases, we start plowing after the snowfall has stopped. Uptown will plow around vehicles or obstacles left in the contracted area. In heavy/wet snowfalls, it may be necessary to clear the contracted area more than once. (For properties on a per clearing payment selection, you will be charged for the depth at the time of each clearing.) These policies depend on Mother Nature so we cannot guarantee a completion time.
Obstacles that may be covered by snow and are at risk of being damaged should be marked or removed by the property owner before the first snowfall. IE: gutters, downspouts, parking medians. Property owners should clearly mark driveway edges, landscaping, grass, sod etc. Vehicles will be plowed around and requests for return trips where vehicles were parked will be billed according to our general labor rates. Uptown does not assume risk for damaging unmarked items or areas.
Uptown is contracted to remove the snow from contracted areas. Due to the inconsistent freeze/thaw cycle in Minnesota, Uptown does not assume responsibility for clearing under lying ice build up. Uptown can provide salting service by request.
Uptown reserves the right to delay services when temperatures are extremely low (typically below minus10 air temps/minus 20 wind chills). Uptown reserves the right to temporarily suspend service if the city or county suspends plowing. Services resume when safe operating conditions exist.
Installment and seasonal contracts pay a set amount per season, with the rates being based off a typical Minnesota snow season. The Minneapolis area typically receives 46.3” of snow per year. Should the snow totals for the season exceed 60”, monthly and seasonal rates will convert to a per time rate after the 60” has fallen. This per time rate will be charged accordingly for the remainder of the snow season.
Mowing and fertilizing services are performed at the frequency contracted. If weather conditions do not permit our crew to safely operate equipment or compromise the quality of the job, services may be delayed. If property conditions do not necessitate the contracted frequency, (ie too dry, too short or too wet), Uptown Lawn & Snow reserves the right to delay service until necessary.
If it is necessary to cut over the grass twice due to excessive length, you will be charged a double cut fee. Uptown does not bag grass clippings. We will mulch or blow the clippings into the lawn so as not to leaves kill spots.
